I’ve got some dog treat recipes to share so here you go.
The first one is good for when you don’t have a lot of time on your hands.
15 Minute Liver Treats
1 lb chicken livers
1 cup flour
1 cup corn meal
1 Tablespoon garlic powder
Place chicken livers and liquid in blender, liquify. Add egg, mix a minute more. Pour into bowl. Add flour, corn meal and garlic powder. Mix. Spray jelly roll pan with pam. Pour mixture into pan. Bake 15 minutes in 400 degree hot oven. Cut into small squares while still warm. Keep in freezer to prevent spoilage. dogs love them frozen.
For my next treat I will give you the recipie for peanut butter patties.
Peanut Butter Patties
1 1/2 cups water
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup applesauce
2 tsp. vanilla
1/3 cup peanut butter (crunchy works great)
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
3/4 cup regular flour
1 cup cornmeal
3/4 cup oats
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix liquid ingredients together well. Combine the dry ingredients in a large bowl. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients bowl and mix thoroughly until smooth. Roll into a ball; place ball on floured surface. Roll out to 1/2″ thickness. Cut into desired shapes (bone-shaped cookiecutters work great!). Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 20 minutes; turn off the oven and leave the biscuits in there for one hour to harden.
And the third and final Doggie Icing.
Around 20 small bones (treats)
Luke warm/hot water
Cut bones into 3 quaters. Put all pieces into bowl of luke warm/ hot water. Let soak. Check every 5 minutes. Drain water when soft. Use masher to mash bone pieces into a soft mush. Place mush into food processor (if have one, if you don’t, you must use masher). Add 1/4 bannana, 1/4 cup water. *If too watery, add more bone mush* Food process the mush for less then one minute. Take out of food processor. Put into a bowl. Put the “icing” on the special dogs cake!
