The last day of NaBloPoMo!

In my blog, there were 42 posts this month.  :D

I wrote almost 4000 words in my novel.  :)

It’s a pretty big feat for me…  Though others have accomplished even more this month.  :)

In addition to being NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) it was also NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month).  Really, I think November should just be “NaWriMo”, National Writing Month.

Anywho, to celebrate the end of NaBloPoMo, here’s a song.  :)

Thanks for writing.  Thanks for reading!

And Happy December.  :)

Hello.  ^_^

NaBloPoMo: Day 24

O. M. G.  There’s only 6 days of NaBloPoMo left!

This is going by fast. :)

I do have something to confess; I still have not watched the Day of The Doctor!  Too unwilling to let go of Matt Smith.

Also, there’s this song and I can’t remember what it is!!!

It goes like this:

“And I’m dying just to know your name,

’cause I need you here with me now,

Cause you’ve got that, one, thing!

So get out, get out,

Get out of my head,

And fall into my arms instead!

I don’t, I don’t know what it is…

But I need that one thing”

It’s been driving me crazy.

Anybody know what it’s called?  Anybody?

Day 23 of NaBloPoMo

Hello!  :D

<3  Feeling overflowingly happy today, so I just wanted to share the joy.  ^-^

http://www.rdio.com/artist/Paris_Hilton/album/Paris/track/Nothing_In_This_World/  Click this link.  ^_~  Press play.

Make some hot cocoa!

(Original recipe makes 4 servings)
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 3/4 cup white sugar

  • 1 pinch salt

  • 1/3 cup boiling water

  • 3 1/2 cups milk

  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup half-and-half cream
Combine the cocoa, sugar and pinch of salt in a saucepan. Blend in the boiling water. Bring this mixture to an easy boil while you stir. Simmer and stir for about 2 minutes. Watch that it doesn’t scorch. Stir in 3 1/2 cups of milk and heat until very hot, but do not boil! Remove from heat and add vanilla. Divide between 4 mugs. Add the cream to the mugs of cocoa to cool it to drinking temperature.  Enjoy!
Get a blanket and a good book.  :)  (Or the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who)
Be happy~~~

NaBloPoMo: Day 15

Halfway done with the month!

Whew!  Finally done with that school project.  :)

Hey guys! :P

I wanted to share this AMAZING music site.

Why is it amazing?  Because it’s free.  With no advertisements.  The only ad-like thing is a new song that rdio is promoting.  They only play very occasionally.  And it’s a great way to discover new music!  :D

I urge all of you to check it out. lol

Stay strong!

The soundtrack!  Brave New World – Aldous Huxley

Opening title song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozitqabi6UM  Technologic by Daft Punk

Why?  This song briefly paints a picture of how humans have become regulated.  How technological everything is is this future dystopia.

In the scene where they are touring the embryo part of the hatcheries:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOvgR_mWGco  Bring Me to Life by Evanescence

Why? All of these embryos are lives.  Canned, frozen, jarred, with the lid screwed on tight.  Some are purposely disabled.  Some are mentally boosted.  Bringing them to life…  Also, this doubles as society crying out.

When they are seeing the conditioning of the baby Deltas: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjX2KYuAJcA  Life Is Beautiful by Sixx A.M.

Why?  A pretty beginning and theme “Life is beautiful!” But underneath, it’s talking about how corrupt this is.  Same principle applying here?  I think so.

When they are walking through the place outside when the children play: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyhrYis509A  Barbie Girl by Aqua

Why?  It’s modernizing and sexualizing youth.  Toddlers singing/hearing this?  Creepy!  The song applies.  “I’m a barbie girl, in my barbie world.  You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere.”

When Fanny is telling Lenina she should be more promiscuous:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzumsXtyCW4  Good Time by Owl City

Why?  “We must make the effort [not to be faithful].” As Fanny says, and as the song goes,  “It’s always a good time!”  So the song should be an accurate representation of what Lenina should be doing, rather than being faithful.

Be creepy.

Stay strong.

8 – Hey!

I know it’s past midnight.  However, I just remembered that I had yet to post for NaBloPoMo!  I’m feeling particularly fluffy and girly and such, so here’s a love song. :) <3

Sorry this post is so late!

7.5, Miss Representation, or THINK!

I am supposed to be doing math now…  But I had to spread the word…

Miss Representation

Explores the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence in America, and challenges the media’s limited portrayal of what it means to be a powerful woman.

It’s an epidemic!  I hadn’t realized…  We think of all this misrepresentation of women and girls as normal!  The media sexualizes and belittles females like we don’t even matter…  It objectifies us in songs and movies and commercials and music videos and magazines and a whole slew of other things without us even realizing it.  It can (and often does) brainwash girls into thinking they must be complete sexualized barbie dolls in order to have any worth.  It heavily damages body image of both genders.  This leads to problems in a person’s life.  Eating disorders, lack of self confidence, depression, cutting, all sorts of self-harm, can all be caused by the cancer of the media’s unhealthsexvertisingy portrayal of what defines one’s worth.  Honestly, one would think we lived in a nation of hormone-wracked teenage boys!  For just one example, go to the victoria’s secret website.  Topless girls!  (Objectification to the MAXIMUM)  And for what reason, now?  To sell things.  Because hey, sex sells.  miley(People like Miley Cyrus are definitely not helping to stop sexualization and objectification…)  Speaking of Victoria’s Secret, the company recently launched a line of lingerie in smaller sizes emblazoned with one-lines objectifying phrases.  I am not kidding.  And guess what?  They sold.  Because, again, sex sells.  “Sex sells…but should children as young as five copy provocative dances and lyrics?”

It really is horrifying to think about this kind of thing…  But you have to acknowledge the pteenager post 1roblem first in order to solve it. This “Teenager Post”  further illustrates my point.  The media has brainwashed so many of the young girls in America to believe that they want to be that lingerie model at Victoria’s Secret.  Hold up, now.  I’m not bashing sexuality, sexuality is totally and completely natural.  Humans are sexual beings from birth to death.  But to obsess about and degrade sexuality is the despicable thing here.  What to do, what to do…          Tpageant+girlhat’s what’s on the minds of parents who are thinking about this.  There are beauty pageants for toddlers!  Think.  Shows like Toddlers and Tiaras, they are sexualizing America’s youth!  Picture a girl. She has eyeliner, hair extensions, fake eyelashes, and revealing outfits…  And said girl is only three.  This just isn’t right…  It makes my head spin.  What decent parent would consent to this?  As the girls get older and more womanly, it only gets worse…  Have you seen the advertisements on http://www.couchtuner.com?  If you look closer, those girls don’t look a day past 15meme.  It’s terrible!  This is the messed up, degradingly hyper-sexual, sadistic, world we’re living in, and I haven’t even started talking about the problem of the lack of female politicians in the USA, or the violence propagated towards young people in video games, music, and the media.  Take Grand Theft Auto 5, Call Of Duty, Black Ops, Mortal Kombat, and really look at them for how truly graphic and gory they all are…bloody  It’s a short walk to promoting rape…Pictures of which I won’t include, but you can look up “promoting rape and violence” on google or something similar to get an idea, if you want.  So this is our screwed up society from yet another viewpoint.  Thanks so much for reading this.  Spread it around!  Re-post, but please give me credit.  Thanks again.

Stay strong!

NaBloPoMo : Day 7

Hey again, guys. :)  I was thinking about it, and I don’t think you know my favorite colors.  (No…  I’m not out of ideas…  This counts as an idea…)

lol Anywho, if you did indeed want to know, they’re dark purple and lime green.  Why these two?  Because they are opposites, and work so well together, in part.  Because together they send a message.  It’s not “Look at me!!” like red & vermillion, Or “Chillax, dude” like light purple-blue and forest green.  If colors could speak, I think together these ones would say “Hey.  I’m amazing.  You are, too.”

That’s just in my opinion though. lol

If purple and green could sing…

NaBloPoMo: Day 5

It’s rainy.  I’m cold.  I’m running out of ideas…

‘Ello!  I have almost finished Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire… It was so different from the movie!

So today I wanted to share this quiz I found.  :)

What’s your theme song?  :P

This was mine:

“Want You Back” by Cher Llyod

“You’re tough and edgy — but most of all, bold. You’re not afraid to speak your mind, or talk to a guy first. If you want something (like your ex back), you’ll stop at nothing to make sure you get it!”

Don’t forget to be awesome!  :P
